Fasteners

It's The Little Things That Count.

It's officially a new year, and it's hard to think that time has flown so fast since the last time that thought came to mind. While it's natural to feel some nostalgia at the end of a year, this time, I can't help but be happy about moving on.

While drinking my coffee this morning, my eye caught a plane in the sky, and I got secretly excited about traveling again.

Next thing you know, I started gazing into the future, wondering when I will be able to buckle my airplane seatbelt again and fly off somewhere. A question that the Wright Brothers probably wondered a few times. Since then, the aerospace industry has made quite some progress; we all know.

In the case of the first A747 Boeing, seventy-five-thousand engineering drawings were used to bring a vision to life.

Today, that same airplane includes up to six million parts, and half of them are fasteners! Think about it: thousands of feet above the sky, traveling at 500 miles per hour, and there are about three million fasteners keeping everything bolted together.

I know that sometimes progress seems as natural as breathing air, but I still find it incredibly fascinating and mind-blowing. I find even more incredible that Socket Source contributes to the thousands and thousands of fasteners that are holding our planes together, or as we like to say—securing our planes, one fastener at a time.
