10-24 X 3/8 FLAT SHCS ALLOY PATCH
Description
Low-profile, 82° countersunk head. Alloy flat head socket cap screws with the patch are ideal for applications requiring a strong, vibration-resistant fastener with a flush mount. Length is measured from the top of the head.
Material
Screws shall be made from alloy steel per ASTM F835.
Hardness
½” diameter and smaller HRC 39-45 Over ½” HRC 37-45.
Patch
Nylon patch is a pre-applied inert thread locking process that creates instant retention and sealing properties along with the added benefit of adjustability and reusability. The engineered plastic material is chemical resistant and eliminates the need for costly lock washers, cotter pins, or castellated nuts.
When assembled with a mating part, the nylon patch is compressed. Due to the elastic memory, it resists this compression and acts as a wedge, increasing the metal to metal contact 180° opposite the material. This mechanical force creates a strong, yet fully adjustable lock which will not weaken, even under extreme vibration.
